Onsite Generation Study

Making a choice about onsite generation is easier with the right information. If you'd like to know whether onsite generation is the right for you and how to best implement it, our basic onsite generation study can help. With a basic onsite generation study, Marson Energy's engineers will visit your site, study your costs and your needs, and determine if onsite generation is feasible.

Areas of Study

Economics

  • Current and future energy costs
  • Your electric load profile
  • Recovered heat utilization
  • Local or state incentives for onsite generation
  • Evaluate your gas and electric rates
  • Project payback

Environmental Concerns

  • Emissions control and monitoring regulations
  • Noise issues

Installation Issues

  • Space
  • Availability of fuel
  • Consolidation of multiple services

Process

Marson Energy will work with you to gather the best available data for a complete study. We'll take the following steps:

  • Collect at least 1 year of your energy bills
  • Assemble information on available fuels
  • Visit your site to inspect the layout, location of electrical and thermal loads and meet with onsite personnel
  • Review your utility rates and speak with your utility representatives

Deliverables

At the completion of the study, Marson Energy will provide you with a formal report using available data that will cover:

  • Your existing load and potential new loads
  • Current costs and potential new costs
  • Optimal operational schemes
  • Any issues that would stand in the way of onsite generation
  • Feasibility of generating power onsite
  • Equipment recommendations based on your heat and electric needs
  • Estimate of costs to self-generate

Additional Services

For an additional fee, Marson Energy can include these sevices in your onsite generation study:

  • Fuel analysis
  • Evaluation and negotiation of fuel and energy contracts
  • Emissions monitoring
  • Direct load measurement
  • Detailed evaluation of loads using utility's metered demand data
